Privacy policy

Our apps on the App Store and Google Play are designed to work without knowing who you are: there is no registration, no login and no profile. We never learn your name, email address, contacts or location, and we have no way to connect what an app sends us back to you as a person.

What stays on your device

Everything you do in the app — scores, progress, settings, photos and anything you create — is stored locally on your device and never sent to us.

What leaves your device

So that we can tell whether an app is working and whether people keep playing it, our apps send a small amount of anonymous diagnostic and usage information to our own servers. It is keyed to a random identifier the app generates for itself on first launch — not your device's advertising ID, not a hardware identifier, and nothing that follows you to any other app. Reinstalling the app produces a brand new one.

• Is the app still being played? Once a day: which app, its version and build, your OS version, and whether you're on iOS or Android.
• Did it crash? The error message, the technical stack trace, and which build it happened on.
• Did the app's screens work? Events such as opening the app, reaching the unlock screen, starting a free trial, or completing or restoring a purchase. We record that a purchase happened, never any payment details — those go to Apple and Google, and we never see them.
• If you allow notifications, the notification token your phone issues, so we can tell you about a new release. Notifications are always opt-in, and turning them off in your device settings stops this.

That is the complete list. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone, and there are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in our apps — the information goes to servers we run ourselves and nowhere else.

Adverts

Our apps show no adverts. No ad networks, no ad identifiers, no tracking for advertising purposes, and nothing that asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps.

App store platforms

Separately from the above, Apple and Google provide us with aggregated, anonymised statistics about downloads, crashes and usage through App Store Connect and Google Play Console. These are governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies and never identify you to us.

Cookies

We don't use any cookies in our apps.

Children

Several of our apps are made for all ages, young children included. We collect no personal information from anyone, so we collect none from children either. The anonymous diagnostics described above exist only to keep the apps working and to tell us whether people are still playing — they are never used to build a profile of anyone, never used for advertising, and never sold or shared. Where an app is aimed at younger children we would rather not hold a notification token at all, so notifications may be switched off entirely in that app.

How long we keep it

We keep the diagnostic and usage records described above for no longer than 24 months, after which they are deleted.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account, the simplest way to break the link entirely is to delete the app — the random identifier goes with it and is never reissued. If you would like us to delete the records already held for your install, ask us through our support page and we'll do it.

Changes

If an app ever starts collecting data beyond what's described here (for example, online leaderboards), we'll update this policy and the app's store listing before the change ships.
