Star Battle rules: how the puzzle works
Star Battle, also called Two Not Touch, is played on a square grid that is split into coloured regions. Your job is to place stars so that every row, every column and every region holds exactly the same number of stars.
The classic puzzle uses one star per row, column and region. Harder grids use two. StarGrid's 9x9 and 10x10 puzzles use two stars in every row, column and region.
The second rule is what makes it a logic puzzle: no two stars may touch, not even diagonally. Every star therefore rules out the eight cells around it.
A well-made puzzle has exactly one solution and never needs guessing. If you have to guess, there was a deduction you hadn't found yet.
