Popper

What makes a bubble pop sound ASMR

The sounds people find most calming tend to be short, soft and completely predictable. A bubble pop is all three: it starts and finishes almost instantly, it is quiet, and it happens exactly when you touch the screen.

That last part matters more than it sounds. A noise you caused yourself, at the moment you expected it, is the opposite of a notification chime — there is nothing to react to and nothing to brace for.

Repetition does the rest. Popping bubble after bubble across a shape builds a steady rhythm, and a steady rhythm is what most people are actually after when they search for something satisfying to listen to.

Popper adds a small vibration on each tap alongside the sound, so the pop registers through your fingers as well. Both the sound and the vibration can be turned off in settings if you would rather pop in silence.
