Popper

How to use bubble popping for a stress-relief break

The reason a repetitive, low-stakes activity helps is that it gives your hands and eyes something to do that has no consequences. Popper is built that way on purpose: no timer, no score, no way to fail.

Give yourself one shape rather than an open-ended session. A single shape is a natural stopping point, which stops a two-minute break becoming twenty.

Slow down deliberately. Dragging steadily across a shape and listening to the pops is calmer than racing to clear it, and there is no reward in the game for going faster.

It works best as a reset between things — after a difficult call, or in the gap before you start something else — rather than as the last thing you do before sleep on a bright screen.
