How Fuse is different from 8-ball pool

In 8-ball you are matched against an opponent, you are assigned stripes or solids, and the black ball has to go last. Fuse keeps the cue, the table and the physics, and throws all of that away.

There is no opponent and no turn order. Every ball on the table is yours to pot, and the thing you are racing is the fuse burning on each one.

That changes what a good shot is. In 8-ball you play safe and leave your opponent nothing. In Fuse there is nobody to play safe against, so the skill is deciding which bomb is closest to going off and getting to it in time.

The scoring is different too. Instead of winning a frame you build a multiplier by potting bombs back to back, so a clean run of ordinary pots beats one spectacular shot followed by a miss.
